Just a Little Bit Crazy (Feb 2006)
A documentary on the National Rattlesnake Sacking Championship in Taylor, Texas. Every year the first weekend of April the Taylor Jaycees hold their annual National Rattlesnake Sacking Championship and Arts & Crafts Show. The teams consist of 2 men, a sacker and a bagman trying to get 10 snakes into burlap sack as fast as possible. Getting bit is inevitable. Guinness World Record holder and snake sacking champion Jackie Bibby & Ken Garret have been the team to beat for over a decade, but the mother/ son sacking team of Bobby Duke and Betty Harris feel like they have been cheated out of the title for all these years. Will they finally come out on top?
Cast
Jackie Bibby- Holds the Guinness World Record for the fastest rattlesnake sacking time as well as world records for getting in a bathtub with the most rattlesnakes, most rattlesnakes in his mouth by the tail, and getting into a sleeping bag with the most rattlesnakes.
Ken Garret- Jackie Bibby’s partner, these two have absolutely dominated the rattlesnake sacking competition for over a decade
Bobby Duke- Jackie Bibby’s ex-stepson, has been coming to the contest since he was 2. He feels that he has been cheated out of winning for years because of favoritism towards Jackie Bibby and Ken Garrett
Betty Harris- Bobby Duke’s mother and sacking partner, holds the bag for Bobby because she got bit in the hand 20 years ago and lost a finger. Now she only holds the bag because since she lost the finger she can only count to nine.
David Gay- the announcer and sacker, thinks it’s relaxing to go out and catch a few snakes. He sticks with it because he never learned to golf
Robert Ackerman- novice snake sacker, is just there to put on a show for a crowd. If it seems like he might come in 1st in the novice category he slows down so he won’t have to go pro
Tim Griffith- 1st time novice sacker, took his in-laws to the sacking competition
